Harold S Vanderbilt’s J Class yacht Enterprise racing Sir Thomas Lipton’s Shamrock V.
In the third race in hazy weather over a windward leeward course, Lipton won the start, but whilst Shamrock’s crew were concentrating on getting in the mainsheet, Vanderbilt put in a quick tack to clear his wind and went on to win.
